Agape

Ron Crawford

In the New Testament, as in the church today, the love of God is characterized as many things. We cannot make the mistake of defining the love of God as something it is not. The agape, or passionate pursuit of the purpose of God, is not physical or emotional love. Neither is it a social or philanthropic aim, but a powerful adherence to the aspirations within the heart of God in our moment of kingdom service upon this earth. The agape is partnering with the deep longing in the heart of God at this time, and a service of this devotion in whatever way God requires.
